Dr. Mark Akers has been in family practice for over 20 years as a natural primary care provider. He is an expert with Applied Kinesiology, advanced chiropractic methods and the application of nutritional products as natural antibiotics, anti-inflammatory and immune activators in the treatment of injury and illness.
He is specialized in the holistic treatment of acute and chronic diseases of structure and metabolism. Dr Akers accepts difficult cases involving autoimmunity and Lyme related illness.
His integrated spinal disc regeneration program has helped hundreds avoid surgery and resume active lifestyles. As a martial artist himself, Dr Akers understands and is skilled at keeping sports enthusiasts doing what they love to do with quick recoveries and improved performance.
Dr Akers received his doctorate in Chiropractic Science from Cleveland Chiropractic College following a career in the aerospace industry. He is licensed in Colorado as board-certified Chiropractor. His continuing education focus is on Nutrigenomics, Antiaging, Wellness Care and the functional medicine treatment of metabolic disease.
Certifications include Applied Kinesiology by the International College of Applied Kinesiologists 2000, Electrotherapy by the Colorado State Board of Chiropractic Examiners, 1994, the National Board of Chiropractic Examiners, 1993 and Massage Therapeutics, Integrative Body Works of Wichita Kansas 1991.
Dr. Akers has contributed his expertise as a member of the Medical Advisory Board for Univera Life Sciences serving as Co-Chair 2003- 2006 and as a member of the Board of Directors, Global Montessori Academy of Kansas City, 1994-1996. He was the Senior Research Fellow at the Cleveland Chiropractic College Research Division and Co-Chair of the Campus Environment Committee at Cleveland Chiropractic College, 1993-1994. Currently serving on advisory board of Heritage College.

Dr Akers brings a background in product development from the aerospace industry, which supports his passion for researching and developing programs that support high-level health for his clients.
He maintains a balanced and active lifestyle having achieved the rank of Black Belt in Tae-Kwon-Do at the age of 52 and continues in the sport with teaching and competition. Dr Akers achieved ATA World Champion in forms for men 60 + 1-3 Black Belt.
